Origin of the Name Tanghaligue
In the late 1890’s, the early dwellers of this place were composed of three families. The place had a verdant forest and most of the trees were molave. These families earned their living by cutting down trees from the thick forest to be made into house post, known in the dialect as “Haligue”. They engaged in selling or trading the “haligue” in town. Since then, the people named the place “Tanghaligue”.
