Origin of the Name Zamora
This place was known as sitio “Auyan” before, a part of barangay San Agustin. The name comes from the bountiful “Auy plants” in that sitio. Through the concerted efforts of the barangay folks, sitio “Auyan” became barangay Zamora in 1984. This name was chosen in honor of one of the three martyr priest who were persecuted for their patriotism or love of country.
