Origin of the Name San Agustin
This barangay was originally named “Baboy” because of the wild pigs which were found on the area when the first settlers lived on this place. Later on, the inhabitants changed the name to San Agustin, one of the Doctors of the Church, and at the same time the patron saint of this agriculturally bountiful barangay. On this barangay, sitio Loy-a, the birth-place of the late President Carlos P. Garcia, is situated and CPG’s bust statue still stands today.
